Set amidst the rolling hills of the gorgeous Shropshire countryside, Goldstone Hall Hotel offers the perfect location for a truly romantic foodie’s mini-break. With the day itself falling on a Thursday in 2019, it certainly seems the ideal opportunity to treat your special someone to a thoroughly indulgent long weekend.

Personal Touch

At Goldstone, we pride ourselves on a truly personal approach to hospitality. On arrival, why not begin your stay with an afternoon tea which you can savour whilst sitting next to one of our cosy log fires. At Goldstone, we are lucky to have a selection of oak-panelled drawing-rooms, where our guests can relax in comfort and style in an intimate setting. You can enjoy the papers, play a board game, or share some of our delicious cakes, with a glass of champagne, of course!

Drink and Eat

Inspired by the Goldstone seasons and our one acre kitchen garden, for dinner, enjoy a delicious 8 course Valentine’s Tasting Menu prepared by Head Chef Liam and his team. We would describe Liam’s food as traditional with a contemporary twist, and you will be treated to a sensational gourmet dinner with fresh Goldstone produce and the option of paired wines. For vegetarians, we also have a specially tailored seven course tasting menu also.

The garden inspires all we create in our kitchens here at Goldstone where you can enjoy fresh, seasonal produce and botanically inspired drinks during throughout weekend.

Romantic Winter Walks

If you’re interested in exploring the stunning local countryside, the area is ideal for walking. There are a variety of walking trails around the hotel, or you could visit Attingham Park,  a nearby National Trust Property which has a fantastic snow drop display.  We also have nearby attractions of Dorothy Clive Garden and Dunham Massey which have beautiful Winter Gardens including plants such as white Cyclamen, Irises and, of course, plenty of snow drops.

If you and your partner are looking for a more glamourous afternoon, the chic market town of Shrewsbury is a lovely spot to spend an afternoon with cobbled streets and a variety of upmarket shops that will keep you both entertained all day.

Our Garden

As a unique finishing touch to your Valentine’s celebration, why not take an evening stroll through our beautiful gardens. If you wander through the rose garden you will find our gorgeous oak pavilion, where you can sit in front of a roaring log fire whilst gazing up at the stars. What could be more romantic? You can then wind your way back to one of our sumptuous contemporary yet wonderfully comfortable bedrooms, complete with bespoke bed linen, large baths and the fluffiest towels.

So, for an intimate venue that offers everything to make your Valentine’s weekend memorable and unique, look no further than Goldstone Hall Hotel.
