Spring – Emily and Jonathan Jarrett
Why did you choose to get married at Goldstone Hall hotel?
We chose Goldstone Hall Hotel for our wedding for a few reasons. Firstly, we had been to a friend’s wedding there and we had enjoyed the hospitality and delicious food so much, that it inspired us to investigate further.
It was extremely important for us to be able to concentrate on entertaining our guests on the day of our wedding. In order to do this, we needed to find a team which valued hospitality and taking care of all the finer details so we did not have to worry.
After our initial meeting and tour of Goldstone, we knew we would be looked after very well on our special day. This was one the main reasons for choosing Goldstone; they have a reputation for delivering excellent service and the upmost care. Nothing was too much trouble.
We also loved the beautiful setting, especially the luscious garden which makes a stunning backdrop for wedding photos.
The Big Day
Did you have a theme for your wedding day?
Not as such but with being huge equestrian fans and with the rural community as the very centre of our lives, we felt it was important to reflect this at our wedding so we opted for a neutrals and a rustic theme. For e.g. we beautiful flowers of neutrals, creams and greens on hand carved wooden place mats as table centre pieces and cake boards. We also had teal bows on the backs on the chairs.
Where did the ceremony take place?
We got married at St Chad’s Church in Norton-in-Hales and then went onto Goldstone for the reception.
What was your dress like?

I wore a dress made by Essence of Australia. I found it at Shropshire County Brides; I knew I didn’t want strapless and I found the perfect dress with lace and a sweetheart neckline and keyhole back. I was so happy with it.
And the groom?
Jonathan wore a morning suit to match the wedding party, which was all hired from Peter Posh.
Wedding Breakfast
We held a Pimms and Champagne reception on the garden lawn, followed by a delicious wedding breakfast in the marquee. Unlike many other wedding venues, Goldstone allowed us to offer our guests a choice of food on the day. This was a really lovely touch and pleased us and our guests no end. We also loved the fact that the menu was inspired by produce grown in the Goldstone kitchen garden too!
We had a homemade 3 tier fruit cake which was hand painted with pictures of the things most important to us in our lives such as our animals.

For an extra treat we offered the ladies a mini bottle of cherry brandy and the men, whisky. We also gave out personalised bags of sweets.
The Party
We had a great band called the Review and, as we had invited after dinner guests, we had a huge party with all our friends and the most wonderful time.
The Perfect Day

The team at Goldstone were amazing throughout the whole experience; from the initial meeting, in the build up, on the day and afterwards too. They were delightful to deal with and gave us the most amazing day, totally seamless.
I really would recommend Goldstone to anyone who is looking for a special place to get married or celebrate. The service was faultless, the food was divine and they delivered a bespoke experience which was perfect for us.
They are such fantastic people and such a beautiful venue and amazing service offered and given. Thank you again. This was a really lovely touch and pleased us and our guests no end.
