Take your garden photography to the next level at this workshop by award-winning professional garden photographer Joe Wainwright, taking place in the 5-acre gardens at Goldstone Hall Hotel.

The workshop will:

Use a combination of a presentations, practical work and personal feedback to give you an understanding of how to:

  • Achieve good composition using a variety of techniques
  • Take advantage of different lighting conditions
  • Spot the best photographic possibilities in gardens
  • Use more advanced settings to achieve greater impact in your photos

The course includes refreshments and a delicious seasonal inspired lunch with fresh produce sourced from the one-acre kitchen garden at Goldstone.

Suitable for: Photographers with a range of abilities and experience. You should use DSLR, mirrorless or bridge cameras that are capable of manual as well as automatic control.

Please note:

It is advisable to wear suitable clothes and footwear for the outdoor photographic session.

The course is not suitable for those using camera phones only.

Tripods are not essential but if you have one, please bring it along.

Course Tutor Profile:

Joe is an award-winning professional garden photographer who is based in Northeast Wales and works across the UK. His images appear regularly in magazines such as: RHS The Garden, The English Garden, Gardens Illustrated, Country Living and Garden News. He also works with garden designers, garden owners, horticultural companies and organisations including the National Trust, Visit Britain and the RHS.

He is a full member of the Garden Media Guild and Professional Garden Photographers’ Association, and has won numerous awards in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition.  In 2022 and 2020 he was also a Finalist in the Photographer of the Year Category of the prestigious Garden Media Guild Awards.
