On arrival at Goldstone
We have designated disabled car parking just to the right hand side of the front door. Entrance to the hotel is by way of two single steps for which we have mobile ramps available. We will have these in place if you let us know but they are quickly put in place by our reception staff as needed. We are happy to help with luggage to and from your car and to and from your bedroom.
Reception
Goldstone has wooden floors and carpet rugs etc. there is one step through the building which is an original feature but we have ramps. Check in is informal and you will be assisted as required for the completion of registration cards etc. Public Areas Our corridors are well lit – with a mix of carpet and oak floors.
Our reception rooms are similar and the doors are generally held open by hooks or magnetic catches. Lavatories Our disabled lavatory is situated by the front door and is on the same level as reception but up one step (with ramps available) from the dining room and orangery. Dining Room and Orangeries There is ample moveable seating with space for wheelchairs to navigate. Armchairs are available. There is background music in the bar area. Full waiter service for all drinks and meals. Accommodation Two rooms are located on the ground floor with one step within the building (Ramp available) and ramped to the bedrooms. Our bathrooms are reasonably large with no lip to the shower – They are not specifically adapted but a shower stool is available. The Rose Garden (Room 12) has a low double bed and Cheswardine (Room 14) has an ancient four poster bed. All other rooms are on the first floor but there isn’t a lift.
Garden
The garden is large with varied surfaces including gravel and grass and there is a slope. However, there are no steps to the terrace and it is ramped to the main garden where it is possible to go round the flower garden. The kitchen garden is more sloped but there are no steps. It is possible to arrange for our staff to assist in pushing wheelchairs but it would be helpful if this is arranged prior to your visit.
